Do you have a 98+ V70, 01+ S60, and 99-06 S80 with a loose or rattling sunroof?

The dealer charges 1 hour of labor ($90) to tighten the sunroof. This procedure outlines the tightening procedure the dealer uses. Do it yourself and save $90! It takes less then 10 minutes.

Instructions:

Step 1. Remove the apron molding for the sun roof:

• The sun roof must be in the half open position.
• Pull the apron molding inwards into the car.
• Detach the upper edge of the apron molding.
• Unhook the lower edge of the apron molding and remove the apron molding.

Step 2. Tighten the 4 Torx screws indicated. Be careful NOT to over tighten! If you over tighten the screws the frame will strip, the sunroof will still be loose and the only solution will be to REPLACE THE ENTIRE SUNROOF MECHINISM FOR APPROX $900!

Step 3. Installing apron molding for the sun roof by hooking the apron molding into place at the top and bottom edges.
