For those that purchased one of our Eggcrate Grilles and would like to attach a stock Volvo slash emblem to it for a stock look, this How to will outline the steps required.
1. It is easiest to perform this when the grille is new because it is the cleanest. If your grille has been used a while, the important thing is to clean it well - remove all bugs and other grime.
2. Wipe down the portion of the eggcrate where the slash will contact with rubbing alcohol to make sure the surface is extremely clean.
3. Using a Dremel, sand off the mounting posts on the back side of the slash as well as the "nubs" from the back of the emblem to make the entire back surface of the slash flat.

4. *This step is optional*. If you would like to change the Volvo badge to the newer blue style, this is the best time to do it. The badge can be bought at any dealer and I am 99% sure it's from a 00-04 S/V40. To remove the old badge gently heat the back side with a hair dryer and push out the old badge through the holes in the slash. Then scrape all double sided tape off and clean the remaining adhesive with Goo Gone. Once all reside is removed, clean with rubbing alcohol and attach the new badge.

5. Obtain 3M "emblem mounting tape" from any local auto parts store. This tape is much better than standard white "double sided tape". The 3M emblem tape is thinner, UV stabilized, has a much stronger adhesive with a wider temperature range, and is gray/black to be less noticeable. Clean the back of the slash with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry thoroughly. Cut the tape in thin strips and attach to the back side of the slash, making sure no tape is "overhanging" and visible from the other side of the slash.

6. Once the slash is covered with tape, dry fit the slash to the center of the eggcrate grille, making sure it is level and centered. To help place the slash where it belongs once you peel off the tape backing, you can note where the slash will go by marking the frame of the eggcrate grille with a small piece of masking tape, pencil, etc.

7. Once you know where the slash will go, peel off the tape backing and attach to the eggcrate grille. Press all over the slash firmly to make sure the slash is attached well. You can even gently attach c-clamps or similar tools to help hold the tape down until the adhesive sets up. Wait 4+ hours before reinstalling the grille, and 24-48 hours before washing the car.
Here is the result:
